DIARY OF EVENTS for 46F (Kensington) Squadron, Air Training Corps

 

1.  Wing Full Bore shoot                                              Sun 21 May

Each month London Wing runs a shooting day at Ash Ranges in Hampshire. This shoot will be for cdts who have fired the L98 before.

 

2.   Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions                              26 -29 May

The Sqn will be conducting Bronze and Silver Expeditions over this weekend in the Ashdown Forest. If you want to take part you must first register your name on the notice posted on the notice board and attend DofE training sessions prior to the weekend.

 

3.   Region Athletics Competition                                Sun 4 Jun

Following our success in the London Wing Athletics some cadets will get the call up to represent the wing at the region competition. This will be another chance to gain wing ‘blues’ to add to our growing tally.

 

4.   Sqn Comms Course                                               Sun 4 Jun

A chance to qualify as a Provisional Operator of VHF and UHF Radios. Join the nine cdts who have already completed this course and be selected to go on to the full Communicators Badge.

 

5.  Wing Full Bore shoot                                              Sun 11 Jun

Another chance to shoot at Ash Ranges in Hampshire. This shoot will be open for any cdts aged 14+.

 

6.   Pol Air Fly-In                                                          16 – 18 Jun

Three senior cdts are required to help with the running of this event. PolAir is a fly in of various police flying clubs at Rochester Airport. Your duties will be primarily with marshalling aircraft on the ground. You will be hosted by the Met Police and sleep on the airfield in tented accommodation. If interested please submit your names to Mr Walker.

 

7.  Formation 12 Training Day.                                                Sun 25 Jun

Our very best cadets will train on this day towards the objective of winning the Innes Sword in October. Activites will include fitness tests, marksmanship training and orienteering. Details from the OC nearer the time.

 

8.  Sqn Adv Trg Camp                                                  7 – 9 Jul

The Sqn will be going Longmoor Training Camp for adventure training. Activities will include shooting, obstacle course, night navigation exercise, orienteering and teamwork exercises. Look out on the notice board for details. Cost £15-00.

 

9.   RAF Annual Camp                                                 8 – 15 Jul

A chance to spend a week at RAF Lyneham, home to the RAF’s fleet of Hercules aircraft. This camp is during school time and is aimed at senior cdts only.

 

10.   RAF Annual Camp                                                            22 – 29 Jul

This is a week at RAF Honington aimed at showing you what life is like in the RAF. Activities will include shooting, map reading exercise, combat exercise with the RAF Regiment, flying and visits to various RAF sections around the base.

 

11.   Summer Air Cadet Experience                            29 Jul – 25 Aug

This summer’s experience is open to all cadets and will incude a camp to Pirbright for shooting, obstacle course training and night exercises.

 

12.  Scotland Adv Trg Week                                        12 – 19 Aug

As part of the Summer Experience we will be conducting a week long mountain training week in the highlands of Scotland. There will be a chance for DofE Expeditions, Bronze and Silver. Training will also include preparations and selection for our New Zealand trip in Feb 07.
